Gunmen stormed a Celestial Church in Felele, Lokoja Kogi State, resulting in two fatalities and three injuries.
In Lokoja, the state capital, the incident reportedly took place late on Sunday night behind the NNPC mega station.
According to a witness, the fully-armed attackers invaded the chapel and began firing randomly.
Further information revealed that while numerous others fled for safety, two persons perished instantly.
At the Federal Medical Center, Lokoja, the injured victims are currently receiving medical attention.

On Monday morning, William Ovye Aya, the public relations officer for the Kogi State Police, verified the occurrence to our correspondent. He claimed that thugs broke inside the chapel and began shooting at the faithful.
"The Divisional Police Officer of B Division Felele received a distress call that thugs had broken into a Celestial Church beside the NNPC mega station and started firing. In the hospital, two patients' deaths were confirmed, while three others are receiving medical care.
According to him, "The Commissioner of Police has deployed our agents and asked the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the inquiry to launch an investigation to uncover the cause of the attack with a view to arresting the culprits."
