Chris Ngige, the minister of labor, appeared hesitant on Friday to support his party's nominee in the 2023 presidential elections.

Mr. Ngige, a member of the governing All Progressives Congress, indicated on Channels Television's Politics Today that he will make his decision at the polls.

When asked who he preferred between Tinubu of the APC and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, he responded, "I'm not participating in politics for now since I am confronting national assignment."

They are both my friends. I'll cast my vote in the voting booth. It's a secret ballot. I shouldn't reveal what I would do in private to Nigerians.

He did, however, point out that Tinubu did exceptionally well in Lagos and "built a firm foundation" for the region, using a common APC campaign line.

When questioned about who he thinks would win the elections in 2023, Mr. Ngige stated the major parties have issues.

"The APC has issues; the PDP has its own. Theirs is twice as much as ours. Family disputes are our own problems.

"My party will win if we work together," the speaker said.
